Case Studies

Executive Coaching for Marketing Leader making Big Strides

Marketing Manager of Global Advanced Textiles and Materials Company sought executive coaching as she struggled with a frustrating work environment. This client was disappointed as she felt her position did not provide her with the personal growth and satisfaction desired. The client hired Sarah Scala Consulting to provide executive coaching along with leadership development to help her move through this anticipated change.

Executive Coaching for future CEO

Sarah Scala Consulting was hired by the CEO of a family-owned business to develop their next CEO, his son. Worked to develop this client in areas of strategic planning, influencing without authority, confidence, and risk taking.  The client was in an individual contributor role when we began the coaching.  In just a few sessions with this client, I shared my research about Compassion coaching  to give him context as to why we talk more about his ideal self and vision, than his tasks and challenges. He will become the fourth generation CEO of his family’s business.

Executive Coaching for Future President of Family Retail Business

A client company headquartered in New England, US, is a 100+ year old retail business.  As part of the succession plan, the next President was identified (family member), and needed executive coaching to close gaps for his new role as President.  Specific development areas identified included: Communication, influence, delegation, organization, and strategic planning. In addition to coaching the future President, the current CEO was included in facilitated meetings with the future President to provide feedback to the coachee and coach about progress.

Testimonials

See how top business leaders have benefited from executive coaching services

During our executive coaching sessions Sarah helped me examine leadership skills I’ve built up over the years and identify areas I want to further strengthen. She provided valuable insights into how I could more effectively respond to various types of situations and workplace frustrations. I appreciated her very down-to-earth, flexible, supportive, yet absolutely non-judgmental style, which made it easy to share experiences, gain new perspectives and take away nuggets of wisdom from every meeting we had. I am happy to report that as a result of my time with Sarah I feel my skillset has definitely grown, and I believe these new tools will be instrumental in making me more of the type of leader I want to be.
— Suzan Kinaki, Sr. IT Portfolio and Program Manager - DESE at Massachusetts Executive Office of Education, Commonwealth of MA
The Leadership at my hospital provides a good variety of professional coaching. I had the opportunity to take the Emotional Intelligence Assessment and work one-on-one with Sarah. I have had other coaching experiences in the past and I’ve often felt coaching can be about pushing a one size fits all change. Sarah’s approach is to allow you to be yourself and take pride in your accomplishments, but also to better ‘polish’ some facets of your skillset. I believe this work with Sarah has been by far the most helpful, effective, and lasting I’ve participated in. Sarah builds great rapport, is non-judgmental, and helps you discover potential new practices. She provides concrete supportive tools, writings, and videos as specific topics or experiences come up in conversation. She allows you to lead as you explore different ways of thinking about management and outcomes, and is committed to making sure you feel like you are getting something from every session. Through working with Sarah I have a renewed commitment to my goals, coupled with a sustainable and effective practice to better shape my leadership skills.
— Tracy Harris, Director Coding and Patient Financial Services, New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, MA
I know Sarah both as a facilitator and as a coach and she is phenomenal in both roles! She is warm, outgoing, and the most positive person I have ever met. Her personality draws a person in and when she talks to you, you feel like the most important person in the room. As a facilitator, her presentations are engaging, inspiring, and one leaves with tools and tips that can be implemented immediately. As a coach, she is empathetic, knowledgeable, and asks questions to help promote thoughtful discussion. I highly recommend using Sarah as a coach, facilitator, for leadership development, or any other need for your organization or as an individual. She is amazing!
— Jennifer Rataj, Former Training and Development Leader, Dartmouth College
Sarah’s coaching helped me develop grit and resilience in the workplace. She helped me identify what skills I wanted to strengthen, and also what frustrations to let go of. Every single conversation I had with her was productive. Sarah’s executive coaching directly strengthened my skills as a leader and an individual both.
— MARKETING MANAGER OF GLOBAL ADVANCED TEXTILES AND MATERIALS COMPANY
