5 Tips for Marketing a Coaching Practice

My 6 year-old business, Sarah Scala Consulting, continues to be successful through word-of-mouth referrals and recommendations. I am grateful everyday to have wonderful clients that continue to recommend me to leaders of their organizations or to their peers at different companies.
When starting out, entrepreneurs often feel like they absolutely need to have a website to start a business. My company did not have a website for the first 3 years, Clients simply wrote recommendations on my LinkedIn profile. When my company moved from New Hampshire to Cape Cod, I decided to build my first, simple website. I hired a friend who is a graphic designer to build my company logo and teach me how to use WordPress. The website provided a public space to display photos and stories of my work with clients. This site included client testimonials and logos, in addition to information on my services and my credentials. Since recently relocating to the Boston area, my mentor suggested a rebrand and relaunch of my website, which has a new look and feel, more testimonials, a weekly blog, and case studies.
Since the launch of the new, re-branded website a few months ago, multiple marketing options are being explored. This includes writing a weekly blog on exciting topics in talent management. These blogs are short 2 to 3 minute reads shared on my LinkedIn page. There is a newsletter that goes out to my mailing list monthly, which includes tips, a few great blogs, and details about future speaking events. Attending networking events have also been helpful to build my new community in Boston, and to connect with potential clients. Speaking at public events and conferences has helped build brand awareness. Marketing my consulting practice has been a new focus for me this year, and one that I continue learning about everyday!
The 5 Marketing Strategies I am currently testing include:
1. Website (with new branding, logo, testimonials, and case studies)
2. Weekly blog shared on social media
3. Monthly Newsletter to my email list
4. Networking events
5. Public Speaking
Which marketing options are you having success with for your business or small consulting practice?
