Workforce Structure Redesign of an 6 year old Beverage Company

A small beverages company in the United States desired a redesign of their workforce structure, in addition to executive coaching for both the Founder and General Manager, and leadership development in the areas of conflict management and personality styles to support their growing business needs. This client hired Sarah Scala Consulting to coach and facilitate the Board of Directors through this 6-month process, in addition to providing leadership development training, executive coaching, and assessment tools.    

 

The Objectives of the Project:

  1. Design the new workforce structure in partnership with the Board of Directors

  2. Executive Coach (1:1) both the General Manager and Founder

  3. Design and facilitate leadership development training and assessment tools


Questions Guiding this Project:

  • What was the current workforce plan? What were the pros and cons to this approach?

  • What concerns and desires did the Board of Directors have about changing the structure?

  • What solution would they like the new design of the organization to provide?

  • What areas of development did the leaders want to focus on for their coaching?

Services Provided:

  • Design of new workforce structure

  • Coaching and consulting the Board of Directors

  • Executive Coaching the Founder and General Manager

Process:

  1. Reviewed current workforce structure with the Board of Directors

  2. Consulted and coached the Board of Director as the new structure evolved to support current business needs before and during COVID-19.

  3. Gained consensus agreement on the new structure by the Board of Directors.

  4. Executive coached the General Manager and the Founder to support them through the structure transition.

  5. Provided leadership development training in areas of conflict management and understanding of leadership styles using the Thomas Kilman Conflict Instrument (TKI) and FIRO-B Assessments


Results:

  • Board of Directors adopted the new workforce structure for the business.

  • Executives built leadership competencies through coaching and leadership development training.
