“I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Scala on a change management and team building initiative with the Stonyfield Executive Team. In working with our team, Sarah spent the time upfront to really understand our business and organizational strengths and challenges, and then she worked with us to design an approach that made sense within that context. Sarah brings extensive organization development expertise, and I particularly appreciate her openness to applying this expertise in unique ways based on the needs of her specific clients, rather than with a one-size-fits-all program. I find Sarah to be creative and flexible…strong at both program design and facilitation…an organized and straight-forward professional who follows through on her commitments regardless of the challenges and changes along the way.”
– Sue Melvin, Vice President Human Resources, Stonyfield Farm
“I had the pleasure of being invited to join the Granite State Organization Development Round Table in 2011. During our first gathering facilitated by Sarah, I recognized right away that her energy, skills and personality would be a great fit for our community at King Arthur Flour. Her passion for defining, developing and leading programs has led us further to a culture of learning and change. Her presence brings an eagerness and lightness to business. Sarah has worked with us on the development of our executive team, succession, coaching, company-wide leadership and HR development. I would highly recommend her for any of these projects and other organization development initiatives. We continue to work with Sarah on people development.”
– Suzanne McDowell, Co-CEO/ Chief People Officer, King Arthur Flour
We had the pleasure of working with Sarah for our away day in the amazing surroundings of Vermont. Sarah worked with us to plan a fantastic programme that really focused on bringing out the importance of teams. We worked hard, learnt a lot and had amazing fun. Throughout the planning, Sarah really listened to us and understood our goals for developing our team. She came up with some great activities which everyone was able to fully engage with and hugely enjoy. I have no doubt we are a better team for her working with us and I would recommend her talents to anyone.
– Thomas Brostrøm, General Manager, DONG Energy Wind (US) Inc
I had occasion to work with Sarah on a strategic climate assessment project for one of my most valued clients recently. The project was extensive in scope and duration. Sarah was a great partner on the project from start to finish. She was proactive, thorough, highly communicative and offered thoughtful ideas and solutions to keep the project momentum on track. I look forward to working with Sarah again on future projects.

To learn more about the Simon Pearce Apprenticeship Program, see the article in the Boston Globe.
“Due to a new executive leadership team that has aggressive plans for revenue growth, Simon Pearce needed to develop a well trained workforce at a faster rate. To support this need, we partnered with Sarah A. Scala Consulting to build our first ever Glassblower Apprenticeship Program. Sarah Scala designed and facilitated the Train the Trainer portion of this project, as well as provided consulting to support and share ideas for training the new apprentices. The purpose of the Train the Trainer workshop was to build consistent teaching skills and processes with our master glassblowers. We had participants from all three of our production facilities in this workshop, which also allowed for networking and sharing of best practices.
The two-day Train the Trainer program included an assessment defining people’s learning preferences, as well as lessons on facilitation and teaching skills. Our master glassblowers became familiar with these new methods and they practiced using new skills practicing through real life scenarios while receiving immediate feedback. It was quite experiential! By the end of the two days, the glassblowers were confident in their ability to train, in addition to becoming familiar with the measurement, evaluation, and compensation tools that were being used to support this change.
Our glassblowers are the heart and soul of Simon Pearce. This experience sent a clear message that management is investing in them because we value their hard work and dedication. Feedback from participants and their evaluation of the workshop was very positive and appreciative. The glassblowers connected with Sarah right from the start. Her down-to-earth and humorous teaching style, coupled with her deep knowledge on the subject, quickly earned her credibility. Sarah also strove to understand her audience by spending several hours learning to blow glass herself! The participants walked away from the workshop quite proud, excited and eager to pass on both their passion and their unique skill on to a whole new generation of talent. We have just completed our 8-week Apprenticeship Program which far exceeded both management’s and the glassblower trainers’ expectations. It could simply not have been so successful without Sarah’s deep consultative expertise and enthusiasm for our critical training initiative!”

“I met Sarah a couple of years ago when I joined the Granite State Organizational Development Round Table. Sarah leads this local group of bright and talented OD/ HR professionals with all the passion and intensity of a true OD expert. Sarah clearly loves what she does and that’s why she’s so good at it. I find Sarah to be wicked smart, intuitive, resourceful, highly energetic, funny, approachable and strategic—all with outstanding follow-through. Based on her deep experience in learning, change management, and consulting, I asked Sarah to help me put together RSG’s Board of Regents for our company’s Institute. She has been an amazing and supportive partner in this effort and her excellent facilitation has helped us move our learning initiatives forward and in the right direction. I highly recommend Sarah and will continue to work with her as a valuable professional resource.”

“Two years after making significant changes to the way we do business, our development plans stalled. One of our staff met Sarah in a social setting and recommended I talk with her, which I did. Sarah grasped who we are, where we are, and what I was hoping to accomplish in lightning speed. Very impressive. In short order, we organized a company-wide meeting, which went very well, and followed up with a list of action items. Sarah not only listens well, but is highly organized and very good at coaching effective follow through. She’s a great asset to anyone grappling with organizational dynamics and change.”
– Bill Hough, CEO and Editor, The Enterprise – Falmouth Publishing Company

She is an insightful and skilled trainer and was able to apply her years of change management and leadership training to this valuable workshop. Thanks Sarah!”

It is with pleasure and gratitude that I share comments on my experience with Sarah Scala. I met Sarah through a friend at King Arthur Flour, in Norwich Vermont, where Sarah’s consulting is well know and respected.
I am a business and arts professional, gainfully employed, who needed an update to both my resume, as well as guidance as to how to migrate my professional information into a virtual platform. After an initial, informal conversation, Sarah and I agreed to work together to polish my professional presentation.
Sarah approaches her work as collaboration, and encourages you to work diligently to achieve your desired results. Every step of the process Sarah is clear, concise and gently diplomatic in her suggestions. With enthusiasm, intelligence, and perseverance Sarah guided me expertly to achieve my desired results. I now have a much higher level of confidence in my professional profile.
I am very happy to give Sarah my highest recommendation for anyone seeking professional consultations and career guidance.

Green Mountain College – Business Class. Topic: Connecting with Leaders
“Sarah did a fantastic job leading a career workshop in my business course, Mastering Self Leadership. She engaged the students in several hands-on activities that developed their networking and LinkedIn skills. She also took extra time to work with a student doing an independent project to create a peer advising program in our Office of Career and Personal Development. The students and I all appreciated Sarah’s humor, clarity and generosity as she shared her professional skills and experience with us. Thank you, Sarah!”
